Social Media

With the growth of Internet use of social media has always seen exponential growth. With more and more people joining social media sites regularly it raises its importance in many fields like:

1. Business
2. Entertainment
3. Addressing people and so on...

The importance can be understood as before any message from parliament comes to media it comes to twitter.  Just by an Instagram story or message, you can spread your views to thousands of people and even address them in a fraction of seconds.

With the growth of today's industrial world, the importance of fraction of seconds has increased so older ways of addressing people which took more time and cost has gone social has provided more effective and cheaper ways to address and empower people. Today many NGO's which were started just on basis of social media have served hundreds of people. Social media has also given a boost to a new field called Digital Marketing which provides all businesses with a low-cost marketing and expansion platform. Let's discuss its importance in detail:-

1. For business:- As compared to a newspaper ad a social media has greater reach at a very low cost. For e.g., if a newspaper ad costs about Rs. 1 lakh a social media post cost about Rs 500 only. A celebrity like an actor or cricketer may charge crores for his advertisement but at the same, a social media influencer may charge a few lakh for his advertisement and he/she also has an equivalent fan following base. In short, it helps to validate your brand

2. For organisation:- Let's take the example of NGO's which helps hundreds and thousands of people according to their potential without any charge. So to reach to potential donors it becomes very difficult for an individual to publish an ad due to high cost but social media provides necessary tools to the organisation to get donations and social workers.

3. For the artist:- Earlier jobs like photography, graphic designing, blogging which were not given respect in the society have emerged with great importance after the internet boom. Many competitions of fields like content writing, painting, photography are organised by Instagram pages along with a cash prize. So it also provides a platform for students to explore their passion and create a different path in the rat race.
